The day will lead off with remarks from Sen. John Stinner of Gering, chairman of the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼éLegislature’s Appropriations Committee. Stinner sponsored legislation this year that successfully extended a state-university partnership on building maintenance, with a 40-year plan that will save Ãå±±ÂÖ¼étaxpayers $1.5 billion.
Items for the Board’s consideration include:
- A resolution regarding critical race theory, brought by Regent Jim Pillen of Columbus. (Addendum VII-1)
- Creation of bachelor’s degrees in environmental engineering and statistics and data analysis, and a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. (Addendums XI-A-2, XI-A-3 and XI-A-4)
- Creation of a School of Computing at UNL. (Addendum XI-A-5)
- Creation of a master’s degree in respiratory care at the University of Ãå±±ÂÖ¼éMedical Center. (Addendum XI-A-6)
- Consideration of a performance-based merit payment to NU System President Ted Carter for the 2020-21 fiscal year. (Addendum XI-C-2)
